2Hot4Ice Hockey events use the USA Roller Sports/USARS playing rules. Rulebook.

2Hot4Ice Hockey Modifications:
Our Regional Qualifiers and National Games use the USA Roller Sports/USARS playing rules with the following modifications:

• Teams:
Teams may roster up to 14 players (including skaters and goalies) with a maximum of 2 goalies.

• Player Eligibility: Once a player participates in a 2Hot4Ice Regional Qualifier, he is eligible to play in the National Games for the team he qualified with.

• Official Rosters:
Qualified Teams are allowed (2) adjustments to the roster that your team used at the regional qualifier for the National Games. This only applies to skaters and goalies. All changes must be approved through 2Hot4Ice Hockey office as the official Nationals rosters that are submitted will be carefully reviewed.

• Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Open Levels: If a youth division has six or more teams, it may be seeded into Division 1 or Division 2 levels at regional championships. Further, some Regional Championships and Nationals may be divided into Open, Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 to level competition.  "Division 3" offers a division for the developmental grass roots and all-star recreation teams.

• Deliberate Forfeits: Any team found deliberately forfeiting a scheduled game in a regional championship or national games will result in an 8-0 scoring and an official hearing with regard to future eligibility.

• Tie Breakers: Total Points, Head-to-Head if all tied teams have played each other the same number of games, Goals Against, Goals For, Best of 4-Man Shoot-out(s). If a tie breaker does not break all the tied teams, then we automatically move to the next tie breaker.

• Overtime: In playoffs and championship games only, the following will apply: 1st overtime will be 5 minutes in duration with teams playing 3 on 3 plus goalies. 2nd overtime will be played 2 on 2 plus goalies for 5 minutes. If teams are still tied after the 2nd overtime, each team will select 4 skaters and they will compete in a Best of 4-Man Shootout(s) format. Visiting team shoots first.

• Fighting Penalties: Will result in the automatic ejection of athletes involved from the tournament. Our officials will apply the zero - tolerance rule regarding fighting situations.

• Girls: Girls playing hockey on a boy’s team shall be allowed to play down one year of eligibility.

Game Format:
3 minute warm-up
1 minute intermission
3 x 10 minute periods
Regional Three Game Guarantee
National Games Four Game Guarantee

• Game Times: 3x10 min halves running time, stop clock last 2 minutes within 1 goal. All Championship Games will be stop time for the entire 3rd period if the score remains less than a 5 goal differential.

• Warm-ups & Time Outs: 3-minute warm-ups with a 1-minute time out per game.

• There will be an 8-goal mercy rule in effect after the 1st period.

• Slapshots are allowed in all divisional play.
